The Smith 629 is a fantastic firearm, but the finish on the trigger and hammer is a little rough compared to the rest of the piece. Trigger is much different than Ruger Redhawk in that there is no major pause before the hammer drops when shooting double-action. It’s a nice, tidy little packaged that makes 310gn hand-loads hurt more than I’d like. The only reason it gets 4 stars instead of 5 is the finish on the hammer and trigger. It functions fine and shoots as straight as you do.
